Based in Montreal, I'm Hasan Shahariar, CPA, Partner at Xen Accounting, and founder of Nex CPA. Over the past decade I've helped venture-backed startups and growing businesses build the financial infrastructure they need to scale.
At Xen Accounting, we act as a company's external finance department, handling monthly reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial systems. At Nex CPA, I work directly with founders in a Fractional CFO role, supporting financial modelling, fundraising, board reporting, and cash flow strategy.
Across years of working with founders at every stage, I've seen the same pattern repeat. Founders are not lacking data. They are lacking clarity. My focus is to simplify complexity and help founders understand what actually matters in their numbers.
The ecosystem matters as much as the numbers. Over the years, I've built strong relationships with founders, operators, and venture capital firms across Canada. I'm an active member of Montreal's startup community, including FounderFuel and Startupfest.
Outside of client work, I spend time building systems and writing about the patterns I see across businesses.
How I Got Here
I started in public accounting, then spent years embedded inside venture-backed companies as they scaled. Watching founders make high-stakes decisions without reliable financial visibility is what pulled me into fractional CFO work — building the infrastructure they needed but couldn't yet justify full-time.
